COPPA VS COPA

COPPA is very different from COPA. COPA was an attempt to force
pornography sites from displaying any offensive images on their home
pages, and it was struck down as unconstitutional.

COPPA on the other hand is designed to protect the identity and other
private information of students online. While there is an exception for
non-profits, they must have an exception under the FTC Act. (Not all
non-profits fall under this category) Since there is an increasing
awareness of privacy and a higher expectation of security, it is wise
to adopt as many of these standards as is possible in order ...

Students Take Evolution Fight to Class

Two decades of political and legal maneuvering on evolution has spilled over into public schools, and biology teachers are struggling to respond. Loyal to the accounts they've learned in church, students are taking it upon themselves to wedge creationism into the classroom, sometimes with snide comments, but also with sophisticated questions -- and a fervent faith.

As sophomore Daniel Read put it: "I'm going to say as much about God as I can in school, even if the teachers can't."

The Visual Thesaurus is a three dimensional thesaurus and dictionary with an intuitive interface that encourages exploration and learning. Available in both a Desktop Edition and an Online Edition, the Visual Thesaurus is a marvelous way to improve your vocabulary and your understanding of the English language. You have to see it !!! It is an outstanding application. Larry Blackmer showed me this and I have been an evangelist for this program every since. I love it and use it all the time. You can try demo it online for free at www.visualthesaurus.com

This is a good example of what a webquest outline for students looks like. The teacher has done an excellent job of putting together the various parts that students can then create their own webquest.

Mitch Kapor explained why he thinks Wikipedia is the next big thing. He first deconstructed the online encyclopedia, which is one of the top 20 Web sites, and punctured holes in myths, such as “someone has to be in charge of things or they don’t work.” 'It's a no brainer to apply to other tasks.' In fact, a recent study showed that Wikipedia is just as accurate as the Encyclopedia Britannica

Teaching takes a toll on many educators' pocket books as they routinely buy supplies for their financially strapped schools. Now there's a tax break for such academic dedication. Teachers and other educators can deduct up to $250 that they spent last year to buy classroom supplies.

If you are considering purchasing dell computers, this article is for you. Don’t assume that you’ve got the best deal. Look at all the pricing available such as the NAD contract with Dell, ads you get in the mail, online specials, and direct sales. When it comes to working with a sales representative you must negotiate.
